"Grace Notes"
The FLC Handbell Choir

'Grace Notes' - the FLC Handbell Choir
It took form over the summer of 2009 with the dedicated learning and practice of many. We have picked the name Grace Notes. A definition for Grace Note – a musical note of extremely short duration, written smaller than ordinary musical notation. The grace note serves as an embellishment, or grace, and has no time value of its own, borrowing instead from the note that follows. This explanation fits the function the bell choir goal has in connection with our services. We are called children of our Savior through grace. We have been given life through God’s grace. Our motto theme is – Ps 145:5-7 “They (the bells) will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I (the bells) will proclaim Your great deeds. They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness.” It is our prayer that our music embellishes our services.

We are still in need of substitute ringers. We practice on Mondays beginning at 5:30 p.m. A smaller ensemble group practices at 7:00 p.m. on Mondays. Junior Grace Notes will have practices at 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Please contact Melissa or any member of the bell choir for more information.
